About David KashifiDavid Kashifi is a senior corrosion engineer is based in the Bay Area. Over the course of his extensive career he has worked on projects spanning the entire state of California. With nearly two decades of industry experience, David Kashifi has a particular expertise in cathodic protection (CP). Since receiving a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, he continues to further his education through specialized courses and has earned a number of professional certifications.
David Kashifi began his career at the Alameda County Water District, where he served as a Groundwater Resources Engineer. He later moved on to CONCECO/MATCOR Engineering, Inc., where he was promoted to Senior Project Engineer after three years as a Project Manager. In this elevated capacity he oversaw a number of major projects, including inspecting Pacific Gas & Electric gas pipelines, investigating corrosion on a 16-mile fuel-oil pipeline in Guam, inspecting water tanks in the Contra Costa Water District, and designing a CP system for a water pipeline replacement project in Hayward, California. As Senior Project Engineer, Mr. Kashifi’s clients included the City of Vallejo, Hayward Gateway Center, and both the San Francisco and Oakland International Airports. Currently David Kashifi is a Senior Corrosion Engineer at Corrosion Protection Solutions, Inc. He has been employed there for nearly ten years, and continues to manage and oversee CP projects for both private and public clients. While at Corrosion Protection Solutions Mr. Kashifi has taken classes with NACE International (formerly the National Association of Corrosion Engineers). His certifications from the institution include Level 1 Coating Inspector and Level 4 Cathodic Protection Specialist. Mr. Kashifi is also working towards obtaining a NACE Corrosion Specialist certification and a Professional Engineer’s registration in Civil Engineering. Outside of work, Mr. Kashifi puts his professional skills to charitable use. He developed, funded, and continues to manage a nonprofit healthcare clinic in an impoverished country. He also voluntarily participates in engineering projects in developing nations. |
